After yesterday's posting of Happy Pets from Switzerland, today i have gone for a germany design studio; Human Empire. You should know them already, they have a pretty distinctive style and if you didn't know them you've more than likely seen their work at some point. They really are prolific with a mass of work under their belt, all of which is amazing for amazing clients, they even run two amazing shops in amazing Hamburg. Amazing. I'm not always a big fan of collage work (I say that while most of my current work and an exhibition i'm leading upto is going to be collage work...) but some people's really strike me. One person who has it down is the very talented Vincent Pacheco. Loads of it is real minimal compositional stuff on a really simple but effective website.

I'm going to hark back to Product Design and show some of my favourite designers, brothers in fact. Ronan & Erwan Bouroullc are genius. They design a lot of stuff for Vitra which is pretty much the best job in the world and then they do wall voverings and partitians and stuff. Its the shit dreams are made of.

What i admire the most is they way they are unafraid to expose their workings (see above). They will happily document the initial sketches and document them. Pretty useful stuff. I think anyway.

Whilst doing my daily visit to Its Nice That i came across Liz Plahn's work. It absolutely took my breath away, so so amazing. Every piece on there is just so thoughtful. My favourite being Untitled (2,000 Artifacts), top, for the sheer aesthetics. Below is a spread from Maybe You Could Call It A Perfect Circle. Sonnezimmer are Nadine Nakanishi and Nick Butcher. They run a print studio in Chicago and both have great personal art portfolios. They have great ethics, really amazing work and really are two people to look up to.

Seb Wheeler is amazing. Me and Seb have collaborated on projects of all kinds for years. He has just recently been showing me the poetry he's been righting and its ace. The latest thing we have done together is this, and it looks great.

Hotpants Romance

Hotpants Romance are three girls from Manchester playing pop music. They're the nicest girls on earth and they love to drink. Think The Electrocutes but way, way, way better.

They've got a new album out this year and from the little bit of rehearsal i heard the other day, it sounds awesome!

Look out for the superstar laid on the beach from the Its A Heatwave video, he looks real hot.

My housemate Phil graduated from Sheffield Hallam University last year and above are photographs from the show. I couldn't make the show but when i saw these pictures i was absolutely blown away. We're off to the Hallam Fine Art degree show this friday and i will be very very surprised if anything top's how amazing these are.

On top of that Phil is a genius and cooks a mean cheesecake.

'The first season shows a power-struggle between various townspeople as they try to keep the town civil. The second and third season, shows the town developing and as it develops, we see the impact of new technologies and new prospects that come to light, particularly the implements of a telegraph system and the introduction of a bank. Both of which essentially other towns have to connect themselves to other towns. The second season also shows the inevitable influx of government officials and the power this can hold on the camp. The third season is a progression of the second season and shows how things change within the camp itself. What makes it different is that this time the government has moved directly in and bought out part of the town, essentially muscling its way in to destroy the haven of Deadwood...'

This is my brother and he is a badass. He writes a film review site called The Shame Must Go On and also a new blog called Little Green Notes on the trailers and adverts before the cinematic experience. I absolutely love Nieves. I've worked up quite a collection of their stock and back in the days of meoney this is where my wages went. They are your one stop shop for artists zines and a serious heavyweight, in my opinion, in the world of affordable self publishing.
